Prior work experience:

Key work during fellowship
- Daily activity of field level staffs of MGNREGA is not monitored regularly. Due to multiple layer of reporting and traditional reporting system field level irregularities are not captured properly and hence the timely disposal of grievances is very poor.
What was done:
- A Mobile application is developed to track the activities being done at the worksite. Android mobile phone with GPS facility and internet connectivity are provided to the PO/PTA/JE, to capture the details of day to day activities performed in the field during their field visit. The Mobile Inspection System enables to capture the relevant data related to NREGA work along with images having time & date stamping. Based on the field level information an automated inspection report is generated in pdf form.
- Concerned block level officers use to submit hand written inspection reports in the district and then actions use to taken on the basis of those reports, which was a time consuming process. Current system is convenient and requires much less time.
The system is operational from April 2014. Within one year 29676 schemes are inspected & 5499 cases of irregularities are reported by the field functionaries and actions are taken by the concerned district level official. The project is nominated for e-Bihar 2014-15 and received Award of Excellence in E-Governance (e-Bihar) 2014-15 from department of Information Technology, Govt. of Bihar.
