One key work during fellowship
Worked for a tablet based educational initiative to decentralize skill and Quality education delivery using community youth as volunteers and leaders of change
What was done:
Started by teaching local youths, who were preparing for competition exams. Some of these community youth were identified and trained on the issue of “Quality education” and social context of the existing problems. Six identified youths were sent to Jagriti Yatra and Yuva Prerna Yatra to learn from co dreamers from all over India, and become the leaders of change.
The initiative was adjudged by NSDC Skill Council as 5 most innovative ideas in skill training which needs greater support. The initiative is currently working with 30 youths who are working as community tutors, 1 KGBV and nearly 1000 children in some of the most dreaded naxal affected panchayats of Jamui & Munger district. Currently, using these youths the initiative is providing decentralized NDLM training delivery, not in an internet cafe but in Panchayat bhawan using windows tablets
